Herbal Tea Tree Balm | Natural Skin Comfort Balm

Description

A gentle, natural herbal balm for skin prone to dryness and irritation. Handcrafted in the UK with botanicals long valued for skin comfort — tea tree, eucalyptus, and hemp seed oil — blended with shea butter and coconut oil into a soothing balm for the kind of dry, irritated patches of skin people associate with ringworm.

Why it works

A favourite among customers navigating ringworm-prone skin who want a gentle, plant-based balm for daily comfort. The all-natural formula is built around tea tree and eucalyptus — two botanicals with a long history in skincare for irritation-prone areas — carried in a rich, nourishing base of shea butter, coconut oil and sweet almond oil.

The balm is designed for external use on dry, flaky or irritated patches of skin. It absorbs cleanly, soothes the feeling of tightness and itchiness, and helps skin feel calmer, smoother and more comfortable. There's no synthetic fragrance — the fresh, herbal scent comes naturally from the essential oils.

Since 2007, Sera Organics has been crafting plant-based, cruelty-free skincare from a small workshop in Essex. Doctor-developed and dermatologist-approved, this paraben-free balm is gentle enough for sensitive skin and made for daily use. For any skin concern that is severe, spreading, or not settling, we always recommend speaking to a GP or pharmacist.

How to use

For external use only. Clean and dry the affected area, then apply a thin layer of balm two to three times daily. Wash your hands thoroughly before and after applying, and avoid sharing the balm or applying it to broken skin.

Ringworm-prone skin is contagious, so good hygiene matters — wash towels, bedding and clothing regularly, and don't share them while skin is affected. If the area is severe, spreading, or hasn't settled within a couple of weeks, see a GP or pharmacist, who can confirm what's going on and advise on the right approach.

Ingredients

Shea Butter (Butyrospermum Parkii), Coconut Oil (Cocos Nucifera), Sunflower Seed Oil (Helianthus Annuus), Beeswax (Cera Alba), Sweet Almond Oil (Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis), Tea Tree Oil (Melaleuca Alternifolia), Eucalyptus Leaf Oil (Eucalyptus Globulus), Hemp Seed Oil (Cannabis Sativa), Vitamin E (Tocopherol).

Frequently Asked Questions
What is tea tree and why is it used in this balm?

Tea tree oil is one of the most widely recognised botanicals in natural skincare, traditionally valued for looking after irritation-prone and blemish-prone skin. It's a firm favourite for the kind of dry, itchy patches that customers associate with ringworm-prone skin. In this balm, tea tree is paired with eucalyptus and a rich base of shea butter and coconut oil, so the skin feels soothed and cared for rather than stripped.

How does this compare to your other skin balms?

Sera Organics makes several natural balms for irritation-prone skin. This Ringworm Herbal Balm is the tea-tree-and-eucalyptus option, made for the kind of dry, flaky patches people associate with ringworm. Our Fungal Nail Care Balm is the equivalent for nails, and our Tamanu Hemp Balm is a gentler all-rounder for sensitive, reactive skin. They each have their place — many customers keep more than one.

Could it be something other than ringworm?

The dry, itchy, ring-shaped patches people associate with ringworm can look very similar to several other skin concerns — eczema, psoriasis, and other forms of dermatitis can all present in a similar way. Ringworm-prone skin is also contagious, which other conditions are not. If you're not sure what you're dealing with, if the area is spreading, or if it hasn't settled within a couple of weeks, it's worth seeing a GP or pharmacist, who can take a proper look and confirm.

Is this safe for sensitive skin?

The balm is built around gentle, plant-based ingredients and is paraben-free and free from synthetic fragrance. That said, it contains tea tree and eucalyptus essential oils, which can be reactive on very sensitive skin. We always recommend a patch test on the inner forearm for 24 hours before first use, keeping the balm away from broken skin and the eye area, and discontinuing use if any redness or stinging develops.

Can I use it during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

This balm contains tea tree and eucalyptus essential oils, which aren't universally recommended during pregnancy without professional guidance. We'd suggest checking with your GP, midwife or pharmacist before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. For general skin nourishment during this window, our Tamanu Hemp Balm is a gentler alternative.

How long does a 30g tin last?

Used two to three times daily on a typical affected area, a 30g tin lasts most customers around three to five weeks. Because only a thin layer is needed each time, it goes further than people expect. The aluminium tin is recyclable, and the balm has a 12-month shelf life once opened.
