For Down There Care | Post-Shave & Bikini Line Oil

Description

A natural post-shave and post-wax oil for the bikini line, underarms, and anywhere you remove hair. Built around tamanu, rosehip, jojoba, evening primrose, and pomegranate seed oils — a botanical blend loved by customers managing razor bumps, ingrown hairs, post-shaving irritation, and dry, sensitive skin around the bikini area. 50ml bottle with dropper, fragrance-free, vegan, cruelty-free.

Why it works

Shaving, waxing, epilating, and hair removal in general can leave the skin around the bikini line, underarms, and legs sore, bumpy, and prone to ingrown hairs. The skin in these areas is particularly thin and reactive — it deserves something gentler than the standard aftershave or body lotion most people reach for.

For Down There Care is built specifically for this. Tamanu oil is traditionally valued for caring for skin that's been through stress. Rosehip oil is rich in natural vitamins and a long-time favourite among customers managing uneven skin texture and ingrown hair patches. Evening primrose and pomegranate seed oils add a deeply calming, nourishing finish. Jojoba mimics the skin's own sebum so the oil absorbs cleanly without sitting greasy. Argan, rosemary, and lavender round out the blend.

It's a favourite among customers managing post-shaving irritation, recurring ingrown hairs and razor bumps, post-wax sensitivity, and the dryness that often follows hair removal. Many customers also use it on the legs and underarms — anywhere the skin needs a little extra care after hair removal.

Fragrance-free (the gentle scent is from real botanical oils), vegan, cruelty-free, paraben-free, free from synthetic additives. Handcrafted in small batches in Essex by a UK family-owned brand making plant-based skincare since 2007.

How to use

Apply a few drops of oil to clean fingertips. Gently massage onto the bikini line, underarms, legs, or anywhere you've recently shaved or waxed. Avoid direct application to the vulva or other mucous membranes — this oil is for the surrounding skin (bikini line, inner thigh edges, pubic mound). For best results, apply morning and evening, particularly in the 24-48 hours following hair removal when skin is most reactive.

For ongoing ingrown hair management, daily use is recommended. Many customers integrate it into their regular post-shower routine — apply after towel-drying, before getting dressed, while skin is still slightly warm and absorbent. The 50ml bottle typically lasts 6-10 weeks of regular daily use.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this actually help with ingrown hairs and razor bumps?

Many of our customers reach for this exact product to manage recurring ingrown hairs and razor bumps in the bikini area. The oil works two ways: the botanical blend (tamanu, rosehip, evening primrose) supports skin that's been irritated by hair removal, while the regular massage of applying the oil itself helps gently exfoliate dead skin cells that can trap new hairs as they grow. For best results, use daily — not just when there's a flare-up. Most customers tell us they notice a difference in skin smoothness and a reduction in bump frequency within 2-3 weeks of consistent daily use. For deeply embedded ingrown hairs that have become infected or won't release, please don't try to dig them out — see a GP or pharmacist for proper treatment.

Where exactly should I apply this — and where should I avoid?

Best applied to: the bikini line, pubic mound, inner thigh edges, underarms, legs, and any other area where you remove hair. Avoid direct application to: the vulva itself (the soft tissue between the labia), the vaginal opening, mucous membranes, or any broken skin. The skin in these areas is much more sensitive and oil-based products aren't suitable. If you're looking for a product designed specifically for the vulva itself, our Vulva Balm is formulated exactly for that purpose. The two products pair beautifully — Vulva Balm for vulva care, For Down There Care for the surrounding skin.

Can I use this after waxing, epilating, or laser hair removal?

Yes — the oil is suitable for use after any form of hair removal once the skin has cooled and any open redness has settled (typically 30 minutes to a few hours after the procedure). For laser hair removal specifically, please follow your clinic's aftercare guidance — they may advise waiting 24-48 hours before applying any product, and may have specific recommendations about which ingredients to avoid in the first week. Once cleared, this oil is a popular choice among customers continuing their laser treatment course as it supports the skin during the in-between weeks.

Is it safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

This product contains rosemary and lavender essential oils, which aren't generally recommended in higher concentrations during pregnancy, particularly the first trimester. The amounts here are small, but if you're pregnant or breastfeeding and want to use the product, please check with your midwife or GP first. They may suggest waiting until after the first trimester or recommending a fragrance-and-essential-oil-free alternative for that time. Patch test on the inner forearm 24 hours before broader use, as always.

Is it really fragrance-free? It smells of something.

The product contains no added perfume, no synthetic fragrance, and no parfum on the ingredient label. The gentle natural scent you might notice comes from the botanical oils themselves — rosehip, tamanu, lavender, and pomegranate each have distinctive natural aromas. Most customers describe the overall scent as warm, earthy, and barely-there. If you have a known sensitivity to lavender essential oil, please check the full ingredient list before purchase.

How long does the 50ml bottle last?

The 50ml dropper bottle typically lasts 6-10 weeks of regular daily use across the bikini line and underarms. If you're using it more broadly (legs, larger areas) or twice daily during an active ingrown hair management phase, expect closer to 4-6 weeks. A few drops go a long way — most customers find they use less than they expect once they get used to the oil's quick-absorbing texture. Store in a cool, dark cupboard away from direct sunlight to keep the botanical oils at their freshest. The dropper makes precision application easy.
